In this background document, the Biological Weapons Convention Implementation Support Unit has provided a brief report on the activities undertaken in relation to the implementation of the convention, such as the 2023-2026 work program. Subsequently, it presents a summary of the Convention’s implementation status in the Middle East and a report on the capacity-building workshops held in the region. It also describes the benefits and goals of the Convention.
